Insurance is not a commodity
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT INSURANCE: Insurance is not a commodity or the same as buying a stereo like Flo from Progressive may want you to believe. I recently had a client who was concerned about his pricing. I love it when I have great clients like this that call when they are unhappy. Within minutes together we learned that quotes he got from the competition were placing higher limits on building coverage and less on personal contents coverage. This greatly reduces coverage in some areas that may be very important to him, but will save him money. My valuable client and I will be having a meeting in person. Fantastic I know my prices are the best and I know my competition was simply playing tricks to make my pricing look high. In the end I should hope to keep this account, improve the coverage in areas he cares most, and save him money. Call your agent they make the biggest difference. The insurance company is only a complicated stereo.
Theft Claims are Bad
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT INSURANCE: Homeowners, Condo, Renters, Secondary Residence, Rented out, etc is what I feel is the best bang for the buck. I have many people ask for this insurance because they are worried about their skis getting stolen. Well, unfortunately this won’t help because a theft claim is bad to have on your record and your deductible will probably be around $500. However, you will most likely have $300,000 or so in liability insurance which means if you cause a fire and it burns down a good portion of the condo complex, or your neighbors prize roses, and even if you pull a misty 540 and land on someone you will have attorney’s to protect you and an insurance company to deal with the mess until your limits are used up. PS: Attorney costs are limitless unless you buy a policy from some random company online out of Argentina. J
